Kim On

Kim is working on expressing the behaviors of reading, listening, and writing in visual symbol and formative language based on sound and text. He works in various categories of works such as installation, reading performance, print, and video. Kim's early works show deep inquiries into the concept of 'book' and he received a master's degree with those works in 'Object-Book', which deals with books as an art medium at Ecole Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Strasbourg in France. After that, the artist broadens his attention to the area triggered by the characteristics of the book and summons the nonmaterial act of reading, listening and writing into the realm of art.
