Script is Rupture

Rupture is when internal energy explodes to the exterior due to extreme pressure.

Script is a rupture that reveals human dignity that has been trapped and suppressed.

In this performance, Byung In Kang writes “Script is Rupture” in 20 different languages on a piece of cloth as tall as human height.

The participants will march towards Suseong-dong valley holding up Kang’s calligraphy to announce the opening of World Script Symposia 2018.

The calligraphy will also be part of the Yongchumun Gate Opening Ceremony that will take place at the closing ceremony.

After the event, the calligraphy will be given away to those who participated in the opening and closing ceremonies.
