Project No. 1:
You can break eggs without making an omelette.

Nayoungim & Gregory Maass

This is a show about methods and success. On this occasion Nayoungim & Gregory Maass use puns, also called paronomasia and contemporary acronyms in relation to Korean traditional calligraphy.

Nayoungim & Gregory Maass
The two artists met as students at the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts in the early 1990s and started collaborating since 2004. Nayoungim & Gregory Maass use everyday objects such as cartoon characters, character dolls, and old furnitures as materials, or cite and adapt scenes in films and novels in their works. Their ironic and playful works cause ruptures between pop culture and high culture, and express questions about a space that exists beyond the art.
