Project No.2:
Kim Kim Gallery Panic Sale

Nayoungim & Gregory Maass

Does the fate of the artist depend not only on the quality and creativity of their products, but also on economic resources? Nayoungim & Gregory Maass have paid this phenomenon particular respect, in which they examined the problem from an economic and artistic point of view. The KIM KIM Sales Shop will provide a comprehensive view of the meaning of artwork for society’s economic and cultural development.

Nayoungim & Gregory Maass
The two artists met as students at the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts in the early 1990s and started collaborating since 2004. Nayoungim & Gregory Maass use everyday objects such as cartoon characters, character dolls, and old furnitures as materials, or cite and adapt scenes in films and novels in their works. Their ironic and playful works cause ruptures between pop culture and high culture, and express questions about a space that exists beyond the art.
