Khmer Vestigium Trace: Cambodian character chronology

Sung-il Noh

It is a book collects Khmer characters used by Cambodians and is divided into two parts; photo essay and letter studies, following the letter Z. The first part, ‘Khmer character travel’, is a photo essay introducing the social and historical background from the viewpoint of a traveler who met Khmer characters for the first time. The second part, 'Shape, Origin, and Writing', analyzes the form of Khmer characters with the designer's perspective and explores in detail the influence of religious origins and writing styles on shaping in Indian culture. Both volumes are complete, but complement each other and convey various aspects of Khmer characters.
