[Crossing] is a story about us who are left at the crossroad of time and space. In this work, different stages of time (past, present, and near future), become flattened and overlapped over each other. On the other hand, spatial concepts such as alleys, streets, and avenues are portrayed as constantly changing and expanding.
 
This work is also an attempt to visualize the imaginary scenes of the new streets in which time and space are randomly blended and rearranged in memory.
 
As echoed in John Lenon’s piece “Imagine”, we began the [Crossing] Project to depict the imaginary streets where diverse languages and scripts coexist peacefully without states, religions, wars, genders, and cultures of discrimination.
 
This project will also serve as a converging point where the official declaration adopted by the World Script Symposia 2014, “All scripts are equal”, will proceed in parallel with keywords such as ‘diversity of culture’ and ‘diversity of scripts’.
 
The project will be held in Jahamun-ro 10 and adjoined alleys and plans to exhibit the artworks of the following artists: Flags and Bunting by Hesselholdt and Mejlvang. Signboards decorated with scripts by Park, Sang-mi and Ab Group. Neon sign work by the duo Rohwa Jeong, Public reading performance at Gagarin, the place of former bookstore (Workroom Press).
